ADVOCATE OF THE MONTH
As we step into a new year, it's a time of reflection and opportunity to make meaningful changes in our lives and our community. While resolutions often focus on personal goals like fitness or adventure, imagine making a resolution that impacts a child's life forever. CASA of Wise and Jack Counties honors those who do just that—our incredible Advocate of the Month. Each month, we celebrate a volunteer whose dedication, compassion, and advocacy make a profound difference for children in need.
Suzette Jones - June 2025 ADVOCATE OF THE MONTH
CASA of Wise and Jack Counties is proud to honor Suzette Jones as our June Advocate of the Month. A dedicated volunteer for five years, Suzette brings warmth, faith, and fierce advocacy to every case she serves.
A longtime Decatur resident and full-time teacher, Suzette was inspired to become a CASA after adopting her daughters and seeing firsthand the vital role advocates play. Despite a busy schedule, she answered the call—proving that even limited time can make a lasting impact.
For Suzette, the most rewarding part of being a CASA is seeing children thrive after surviving hardship. One of her most memorable moments came when two children she fought to protect were adopted into a loving home. “Knowing they were safe made every challenge worth it,” she shared.
We are grateful for Suzette’s heart, strength, and unwavering commitment to speaking up for children in need.
Robbi Lachenal - May 2025 ADVOCATE OF THE MONTH
Robbi got her start in Advocacy while she lived in Florida. She served the town she lived in as a victim advocate for the police department. This was a difficult role for Robbi, she excelled at serving, but her heart was breaking due to her work. After much prayer and thought, she felt led to advocate for Children and Families through CASA of Wise and Jack Counties. Robbi has worked three cases in the year that she has served. Two children have been reunified with their mom, and one child is awaiting adoption. Robbi is a fierce advocate who devotes much time and energy into her work here. When she is not volunteering for us, Robbi spends her time with her two sons who live in the area and her grandchildren. We are absolutely blessed that she is a part of our program here at CASA.
JESSICA VALENCIA - APRIL 2025 ADVOCATE OF THE MONTH
Jessica joined our program in February 2023 and has already worked on two cases, providing incredible support to the families in each one. She goes above and beyond to make sure the children—and their families—are truly heard. That kind of advocacy is priceless for the people we serve.
Jessica is a mom and a proud grandmother. Before becoming a realtor, she spent years in education at Paradise ISD. Her experience and heart for others make her a huge asset to our program. We’re so lucky to have her—she’s a powerful voice for those who often go unheard in our community.
Linda Koch - February 2025 Advocate of the Month
Linda Koch joined our program as an advocate on February 17, 2021, and has since helped three children achieve permanency. She continues to work tirelessly on her very first case, dedicating four years to ensuring her child finds a forever family. Linda’s unwavering commitment and fierce advocacy make a lasting impact. A devoted Packers fan and the kindest soul, she brings warmth and positivity to everyone she meets. Her love for her children and grandchildren shines through in all she does, making her a true blessing to our program.
Tim Trow - thank you for ten years!
Tim has been a dedicated advocate for our community since April 3, 2014. Over the years, he has worked on 15 cases, helping 28 children find permanency through his unwavering commitment. Tim's passion for advocacy stems from his deep desire to give back, and his willingness to learn and ask questions makes him an invaluable part of our program.
Kris Tamplen - January 2025 Advocate of the month
Kris Tamplen’s whole life has been child-centered. As an elementary teach for over 34 years, she has devoted her life to caring for children. She has always been a tireless advocate so her skills as a CASA are invaluable.
